Profile

I love traveling and camping. Lately I've gotten really into hiking, and on weekends I head out to the mountains in Yamanashi or Nagano and come home completely worn out. Now and then I also go out on my motorcycle.

The Work, and Why I Joined

What does your job involve?

Design work here mainly falls into two areas: designing the molds themselves, and designing the products that are molded with them.

I work on the latter.

What led you to join Nagatsu?

I saw the posting on my university's job board. Also, one of my siblings had done an internship at Nagatsu, which gave me a push: maybe this is a good company? So I joined.

What Makes It Rewarding, and What Comes Next

What moments in your work have made you happy, moved you, or been fun?

I'm happy when a product that has passed through my hands goes on the market.

A lot of this work is camera-related, and it's interesting to know what a product will be like before it's released.

What has been hard in your work, or what are you struggling with now?

Recently I've been working on more and more products with complex shapes.

Complex shapes do take time, so my struggle is finding ways to get the work done faster.

In what ways do you feel you've grown through your work?

Related to my previous answer, I've become able to handle difficult jobs.

That said, when big jobs come in one after another, it does wear me down...

I'd also say I've learned to judge where to put in effort and where to ease off.

What are your goals going forward?

To be able to finish even big jobs in a short time.

The Workplace, and What Makes the Company Attractive

What is the atmosphere like at the company?

I think people here, myself included, are fairly easygoing and no-fuss.

What do you find appealing about the company?

Above all, that we make things used by a great many people.

I think the company's location is good too.

What do you value most in your working life here?

Making time for my hobbies and for myself.

What kind of person do you think would do well here?

Speaking for design work, I think people with imagination are well suited.

We often work with 3D models and think through mechanisms in our heads.
